内容摘要：
Driven by the technological advancements in wireless infrastructures and hand-held devices, recent years have witnessed the proliferation of real-time video applications over smartphones (e.g., video call, mobile gaming, live sports streaming, etc.). However, streaming high-quality real-time videos with the limited radio resources is challenging due to the time-varying channel status and stringent service requirements. Therefore, it is of vital significance to investigate the performance optimization for real-time video communication over heterogeneous wireless networks. This seminar explores the problem in the following aspects: 1) multipath video transmission over heterogeneous wireless networks; 2) high-frame-rate wireless video delivery; 3) energy-efficient video streaming to mobile devices; 4) real-time video communication with TCP (Transmission Control Protocol).
报告人简介：
Jiyan Wu received the Ph.D. degree in computer science and technology from the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Beijing, China, in June . He was a Software Developer (C++) with Sinosoft Technologies Company Ltd., Beijing, from to , a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow with the Singapore University of Technology and Design, Singapore, from to , and a Seinor Software Engineer with OmniVision Technologies (Singapore) from to . His research interests include video communication, video coding, forward error correction, heterogeneous wireless networks, concurrent multipath transfer and energy optimization. The research results have been published/presented in top-tier journals and conferences, e.g., IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems, etc.
His programming experiences/interests are in the areas of client-server video communication, embedded multimedia systems, peer-to-peer data transfer, and back-end server programs. Currently, he is working as a staff engineer with Tensor Vision Private Limited (Singapore), concentrating on applying machine/deep learning algorithms in industrial vision inspection system and real-time sensory data analysis.
