定冠词（the）
口诀：特指双熟悉，上文已提及。世上独无二，序数最高级。某些专有名，习语及乐器。
1、特指某（些）人或某（些）物
The women in pink is my sister.
2、指上文已提及的事物
She eats an apple, and the apple is very big.
3、用于谈话双方都知道的名词前
Lily, would you mind opening the window?
4、用于表示西洋乐器的名词前
I like playing the piano.
5、用在序数词和形容词最高级之前
Xi Dada is the greatest man in my mind.
It’s the second tallest building in the world.
6、 the +姓氏复数表示一家人
The Smiths will attend the meeting this afternoon.
7、 和某些形容词连用表示一类人或事物
It is our duty to help the poor, my mother told me.
8、用于世界上独一无二的事物
If you want to get the sun, I will give you.
9、用于江河湖海山脉岛屿等名词前
Would you like to go to the Rocky Mountains with me?
10、the用在某个世纪的某个年代
This photo on the wall comes from the park in the 1990s.
11、用于the+比较级，the+比较级
The harder you study, the better grade you will get.
不定冠词（a, an）
1、表示“一”这个数量
Running man is an exciting movie.
2、用于第一次出现的人或者物
The director is looking for a missing boy in my hometown.
3、泛指某一类人或物
A father must take care of the family.
【易错警示】
1、有些单词虽然是以元音字母开头，但发音却是非元音，因此其前用a，如：
a university, a useful book, a European等。
2、有些单词虽然是以辅音字母开头，但发音却是元音，因此其前用an，如：
an hour, an honest boy等。
3、辅音字母发元音因素。
如：在umbrella 这个单词中有一个字母m，应用an “M”
零冠词
口诀：下列情况应免冠，代词限定名词前。专有名词不可数，学科球类三餐饭。复数名词表泛指，两节星期月份前。颜色语种和国名，称呼习语及头衔。
1、物质名词、抽象名词、专有名词前
I like music.
I would like to live in China.
2、季节、月份、星期、节日、假日等前
I was born on September 12th, 1988.
It’s Monday.
3、一日三餐的名词前（有修饰词则要加）
Today, we will have a good dinner for your birthday.
We will have lunchr at 12:00.
4、球类、棋牌类的名词前
My mother likes playing Majiang. So does my father.
I like playing chess.
5、表示职位、头衔、称呼的名词前
Mr. Xi is Chairman of China.
6、有物主代词、指示代词、不定代词等限定词修饰的名词前
Li Chen doesn’t like this task, and thinks it is easy for him to finish.
He is my best friend.
This is his ninth birthday.
