动词短语是由动词和介词、副词、名词等构成的，在句中作谓语。225.go in for参加，从事
用法：go in for后面常接表示比赛的名词或者名词词组。
例句：Many old people went in for the chess game held in the city.
不少老人都报名参加了市里举办的象棋比赛。
结构分析：Many old people是主语（many和old是前置定语）， went up for是谓语，the chess game是宾语，held是过去分词作后置定语， in the city是地点状语。
226.go on继续下去，持续
用法：go on与动词的-ing形式连用，表示“不停地做某事，继续做某事”。
例句：The woman should go on playing chess. (6月四级)
这个女人应该继续下棋。
227.go out外出，熄灭
用法：go out在句中通常用作独立的谓语成分，不接宾语。
例句：And, perhaps, similar to sails, they make a useful backup when the lights go out. (6月四级)
或许，和船帆相似，它们在灯光熄灭的时候会是有用的支援。
228.go up上升，上涨
用法：go up后不直接接宾语，有时和to连用。
例句：You can see that the red flag spreads slowly when it goes up.
你可以看到红旗在上升的过程中慢慢展开。
0110作业动词短语：grow up长大，逐渐形成用法：grow up还可以与into连用，表示“逐渐形成”，在句中通常用作独立的谓语成分，不接宾语。
例句：Researchers at the University of Minnesota studied 350 sets of identical twins who did not grow uptogether. (12月四级)
