磨床磨床grindingmachine用磨料、磨具(如砂轮、砂带、油石、研磨料等)对工件表面进行磨削加工的机床。磨床能加工硬度较高的材料如淬硬钢、硬质合金等，也能加工脆性材料如玻璃、花岗石等。磨床还能进行高精度和高效率的磨削。1830年前后，英国、德国和美国制造出使用天然磨料砂轮的磨床，这些磨床是在现成机床(如车床、刨床等)上加装磨头改制而成。1876年巴黎博览会展出的美国布朗-夏普公司制造的万能外圆磨床，首次具有现代磨床的特征，1883年该公司又制成磨头装在立柱上，工作台作往复移动的平面磨床。此后，各种不同的磨床相继问世。随着微电子技术和其他现代技术的发展，磨床的加工效率、自动化程度以及加工精度等得到了不断提高。正在磨削加工轴件的磨床磨床是各类金属切削机床中品种最多的一类。其主要类型有：①外圆磨床。能加工各种圆柱形或圆锥形的外表面、阶梯轴轴肩及小平面等；万能型还带有内圆磨削附件，适用于中小批单件生产和修配工作。②内圆磨床。主要用于磨削圆柱、圆锥形内孔表面。③平面磨床。用砂轮的周边或端面磨削工件的平面。④工具磨床。用于磨削工具及刃磨新制或用钝的刀具，有万能工具磨床、滚刀刃磨床、工具曲线磨床(又叫成型磨床)等。⑤无心磨床。通常指无心外圆磨床，工件位于砂轮与导轮之间，由托板支承进行磨削。⑥砂带磨床。以快速运动的砂带为磨具，工件由输送带支承，多用于加工大批量生产的平面零件、大尺寸板材、耐热难加工材料等。⑦专门化磨床。专门用来磨削某一类零件如曲轴、凸轮轴、导轨、叶片、螺纹和齿轮等的磨床。另外，还有珩磨机，抛光机、研磨机、坐标磨床和钢坯磨床等。
