遥测遥控信号携带遥测遥控信息且便于转换和传输的各种波形。由于遥测遥控系统可以采用不同的方案，因而遥测遥控信号可以具有各种各样的形式。一般来讲，只要能携带遥测遥控信息，且便于在空间传输的信号，就可以作为遥测遥控信号的一种传送形式。但在绝大多数情况下都是采用电信号，有时也采用光信号或声信号。遥测遥控信号不论采用何种形式，必须具有能表示信息意义的特征，称为信号特性。用正弦波作为信号时，可利用它的幅度、频率或相位作为信号特征。用矩形脉冲作为信号时，可利用脉冲的极性(即正负)、幅度、宽度、位置、个数和频率等作为信号特征。 在数字式遥测遥控系统中，可用二进制码组表示遥测遥控信息。这种二进制码称为编码基带信号。在脉冲编码遥测遥控系统中，这种二进制码在发送端用于调制载波之前或在接收端进行处理和记录之前，有时要对脉冲波形作些变换。常用的码型如图所示:①NRZ-L（不归零电平码），"1"用一种电平表示，"0"用另一种电平表示，但占用宽度相同。②NRZ-M（不归零传号码），"1"用电平变化表示，"0"用电平不变表示。③NRZ-S（不归零空号码），与NRZ-M相反，"1"用电平不变表示,"0"用电平变化表示。④BIΦ-L（双相电平码），每位码元中间有电平变化，"1"由高电平过渡到低电平表示，"0"由低电平过渡到高电平表示。⑤BIΦ-M(双相传号码)，每位起始有电平变化,"1"用码元中间有电平变化表示,"0"用码元中间无电平变化表示。⑥BIΦ-S（双相空号码），每位起始有电平变化,"1"用码元中间无电平变化表示，"0"用码元中间有电平变化表示。⑦DM－M（延迟调制传号码），又称密勒码,"1"用码元中间有电平变化而起始电平不变来表示，"0"用码元中间无电平变化来表示,但前一位是"1"，起始电平不变，若前一位是"0"，则起始电平变化。⑧DM-S（延迟调制空号码），与DM-M码相反。
