多义短语的用法
18. turn down调小声，拒绝，减少，降低异同之处：turn down的主语可以是人，也可以是物。
例1：We get distracted before we can turn downthe heating. (12月六级)
我们在暖气关掉之前心烦意乱。
结构分析：We是主语，get是系动词，distracted是系动词，before引导状语从句，we是主语，can turn down是动词词组作谓语，the heating是宾语。
例2：The boss turned down his offer at the meeting.
会议上，老板拒绝了他的建议。
结构分析：The boss是主语（定冠词the作前置定语），turned down是动词词组作谓语，his offer是宾语，at the meeting是地点状语。
2001作业：1.句子结构、时态等分析；2.将英文译成中文。短语：take over接管，借用，占领，接替，取代，占上风
异同之处：take over在句中一般不能单独使用，后面要跟名词或者代词作宾语。表示“取代，占上风”，可单独使用，或者与介词from连用。
例1：Miss Smith has asked for a sick leave,and I have to take over her work for a couple of days. (12月四级)
例2：She had to take over his work because he wasill in bed.
