反义短语的用法
11. look down on轻视 & look up to尊敬，敬仰
异同之处：look down on和look up to是一对反义词组，后面通常跟表示人、生命等的名词、代词或者名词词组。需要注意的是，look down on中的介词也可以替换成upon。
例1：Only those foolish people look down on the life of animals and plants.
只有那些愚蠢的人才轻视动物和植物的生命。
结构分析：Only those foolish people是主语（Only those foolish是三个前置定语）， look down on是动词词组作谓语，the life of animals and plants是宾语（and是连接词，连接两个名词）。
例2：How do the people you respect and look up to present themselves?
你尊敬的人是怎么样表现自己的?
结构分析：How是方式状语，the people you respect是主语（you respect是后置定语，修饰前面的the people）， do是谓语，and连接两个句子， look up to是谓语，present themselves是宾语。
12. keep one’s promise遵守某人的诺言 & break one’s promise食言
异同之处：keep one’s promise与break one’spromise是一对反义词组，在句中单独使用，作谓语。
例1：He is not a man who keep his promise. (12月六级)
他不是一个会遵守诺言的人。
例2：In a fairy tale, if a man breaks his promise, he will be punished by God.
在神话故事里，如果一个人违背了诺言，会被上帝惩罚。
作业短语：lose weight减少体重 & gain weight增加体重异同之处：lose weigh和gain weight是一对反义词组，lose weigh可用reduce weight代替，gain weight可用put on weight代替。
例1：As anyone who has tried to lose weight knows, realistic goal-setting generally produces the best results. (6月六级)
例2：Woman will gain weightduring pregnancy, which is a normal phenomenon.
