5. get off下车 & get on上车，上马
异同之处：get off后经常跟地点、车之类的名词或者名词词组，也可以单独使用。get on后接表示车、马之类的句词或者名词词组。
例1：The driver told the old man he should get off at the next station.
司机告诉老人，他应该在下一站下车。
结构分析：The driver是主语，told是谓语，the old man是间接宾语， he should get offat the next station整个是直接宾语，其中he是主语，should get off是谓语，at the next station是地点状语。
例2：The driver started the car before a few people got on.
还有几个人没有上车，司机就已经发动汽车了。
结构分析：The driver是主语，started是谓语，thecar是宾语，before引导状语从句，a few people是主语（a few作前置定语修饰people）， got on是谓语。
6. both…and…两个都 & neither…nor…两者都不
异同之处：both…and…表示肯定意思，neither…nor…表示否定意思，而且在句子中都遵循“就近”原则，即谓语动词与靠近的名词、代词在人称和数上保持一致。
例1：Boththe conversation andthe questions will be spoken only once. (6月四级)
对话和问题都只读一遍。
语法点：both…and…在句中连接两个平行的主语，谓语一般用复数。
例2：Unfortunately, in our western tradition, neithermaterialistnoridealist theoreticians give enough consideration to this basic condition for life. (6月六级)
不幸的是，在我们西文的传统里，唯物主义和唯心主义理论者都没有充分考虑到生活的这一基本条件。
2001作业短语：catch up with赶上 & fall behind落后异同之处：catch up wit与keep up with同义，后面一般要跟上表示人、新闻、时尚之类的名词或者代词，而fall behind表示“落后于”，在句中可用作独立的谓语成分，也可以接宾语。
例1：In the morning, I just sit in comfort and read the papers to catch up with the news. (6月四级)
例2：China does not fall behindother countries in terms of economic development.
