动词短语是由动词和介词、副词、名词等构成的，在句中作谓语。185.die down逐渐变弱，逐渐降低
用法：die down侧重指情绪等抽象事物的消失，与die away的区别是die away侧重指具体的声音，光线等的消失。
例句：With the consolation of her friends, her anger gradually died down.
在朋友的安慰下，她的怒火渐渐消失了。
结构分析：With the consolation of her friends是介词词组作状语, her anger是主语（her是前置定语）， gradually是状语， died down是谓语。
186.die out灭绝
用法：die out在句中通常用作独立的谓语成分，不接宾语。
例句：A lot of native languages have already died outin the US. (6月六级)
在美国，很多本土语言已经消亡。
187. drink up喝完
用法：drink up可以接宾语，也可以作独立的谓语成分，不接宾语。
例句：He drank up a bottle of beer in one gulp.
他一口气喝完了一瓶啤酒。
188. drive away驱车离开
用法：drive away此时不能用于被动语态，其后不接宾语。
例句：They couldn’t find a hunter in the mountains, and they had to drive away.
他们在山里没找到猎人，只能驱车离开了。
1229作业动词短语：do well in在某方面做得好用法：do well in后接名词或者是动名词形式，不能用于被动语态。
例句：A rigorous study finds that athletic coaches also do well inraising students’ test scores. (12月六级)
